FILL-IT™
Application
Instructions
Fill-It is a two part epoxy gel that cures
to form a high strength flexible repair that works with wood,
cement, fiberglass and many other materials. Fill-It's unique
epoxy formulation chemically bonds with most materials, achieving
superior adhesion, flexibility and durability, while being
easy to use.

Fill-It Pot Life & Curing
Times
Several factors affect the curing times for Fill-It, and
require an 'on-the-job' judgement:
- You can tell if Fill-It is ready to sand when it no longer
'gums' up the sand paper;
- The thicker the application of Fill-It, and the deeper
into any material it is applied, the longer it will take
to fully cure;
- The varying day and night time temperatures should be
taken into consideration when reading the table above;
- It is important to keep rain and dew away from Fill-It
while curing. If there is high humidity, the curing time
will be longer; and,
- A well ventilated area is recommended, as fresh drier
air will shorten the curing time.
Shelf Life
If Fill-It is stored unopened, above freezing, and is sealed
correctly it should virtually last forever! Once opened, however,
if sealed correctly between uses, it will easily last a year.
Preparing Fill-It
Fill-It is a two-part Epoxy gel mixed with a ratio of 1:1.
Part A and B are different colours to aid in mixing. When
preparing Fill-It for use Senseal recommends that you:
- Mix the two-part epoxy gel 1:1 by volume. Part A and
B are different colours to aid in mixing;
- Always wear protective clothing when handling and using
Fill-It. Senseal recommends plastic gloves (see safety precautions);
- Measure out equal parts of container A and B onto a sturdy
plastic or metal disposable surface that is clean from any
other materials. Mix the gel thoroughly by folding and smearing
with a flat tool – remembering to scrape both the
mixing surface and the mixing tool – until neither
original colour can be seen and a combined off white colour
is consistent throughout the gel. This is very important
as unmixed bits will not cure; and,
- Once mixed Fill-It will begin to cure and must be used
within the pot-life times indicated.
Applying Fill-It
Fill-It is best applied using a spatula, or similar thin and
flat surfaced implement. If
this tool is not disposable, use Senseal’s Epoxy Clean-It
to remove excess before it cures. When applying Fill-It to
wood, ferrocement or fibreglass Senseal recommends:
- First apply a thin film smeared forcefully against the
surface and then Fill-It can be added to reach the desired
thickness;
- The Fill-it may be molded to the desired shape while soft
with a flat tool. Shaping can also be achieved by placing
a clean piece of clear plastic film (like kitchen cling-wrap)
over Fill-It and then molding it into the desired shape
through the plastic. Leave the plastic on until Fill-It
has set – the plastic will easily peel off;
- Once set, Fill-it can be sanded, sawn, chiseled, drilled
and screwed just like wood;
- For extremely large, vertical or overhead applications
it is advised to apply Fill-It in stages. First apply Fill-It
until any more would cause it to sag under its own weight.
Then wait until this cures before applying more filler.
Very large holes can be partly filled with bits of wood
and then filled around and over with Fill-It;
- For better adhesion of paint or varnish lightly sand
fully cured Fill-It;
- To maximise coating adhesion apply a surface coat of
Senseal’s Multi-Primer
to the Fill-It and surrounding unpainted surface before
applying a top-coat; and,
- To make Fill-It less viscous so that it can be poured
like honey into cracks or holes, mix in 10 to 20% of Senseal’s
Laminate-It.
