How Stop The Rot! Works
The Technology - Stop The Rot! uses joinery techniques in combination with two epoxy products based on natural wood resins: Multi-Primer and Fill-It(TM). Multi-Primer is a clear penetrating epoxy sealer that displaces liquids in wood (sap, oils and water), stabilises wood porosity, neutralises wood acidity, blocks tannin bleeding, and enhances coating adhesion. In laymen's terms - new wood and joins are water proofed and rot proofed - rot damaged wood is 'brought back to life' and protected from future rot. Fill-It is an epoxy resin that chemically bonds with wood (especially Multi-Primed wood) curing as a high strength, flexible, lightweight, waterproof filler. Fill-It won't crack or separate from the wood once cured, and can easily be worked (sanded, chiseled, sawed, drilled etc).
The Process - There's not many pieces of rotten timber that Stop The Rot can't repair, but for those few extremely deteriorated timber sections, they are first removed and replaced with matching timber. Then the remaining rot damaged wood is repaired. As shown below in "3 Steps to Repair Rot" the damaged wood is cleared of loose fibres and coatings and then both the new and damaged wood is impregnated with Multi-Primer. Fill-It is used to fill joins making them water tight and to restore the original profile of the damaged wood. The restored wood is then sanded and painted to be as 'good as new'.
Additional Services - While Stop The Rot's! experienced carpenters are restoring your rot damaged property, they can also perform all manner of carpentry services, and arrange for the painting of your property in the right timing with the application of the permanent rot repair system so that your surface coat lasts longer as well!
